Rome Day Twenty-one

Day 21

There was still no sight of my luggage this morning. But I wasn't going to let that get me down. I'm in Rome. I went down to the hotel buffet for breakfast which was included in my packages when I booked. And the dining room was packed! that I struggled to get a seat and there was a line up through the lobby. The buffet wasn't bad eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats, cheese, fruits and cereals. Nothing out of the ordinary. The hotel I stayed in is great, really modern and comfortable but the you had to lay for wifi and access it from the lobby only.

Not having wifi can get expensive when you want to keep in contact with your family back home. I found a little cafe after I left the hotel that had free wifi and had a drink and have my family a call on viber.

Tip: To keep your phone bill down there is some great aps that run off wifi that will let you text and call your friends and family for free. Such as Viber, Skype and  Facebook messages.

After speaking to my family I went exploring in my newly brought clothes that I brought yesterday to replace my missing suit case. Today was sooooooo HOT! I walked down the street past the Trevi fountain that was under construction and on to the roman forum.

I walked through the roman forum and down to the collesum. I love Rome you just have to look around to see their past. You also just have to look around to see gypsies everywhere also. Although gypsys hassle you I've got to say they know what tourist want. When it's hot they had frozen bottles of water and fans, and when it rains they are selling ponchos and umbrellas. They are good.

Tip: Although if you buy something off a gypsys keep your hand on your bag and your zipper on your bag zipped up. I had a friend who brought something off them and while she was buying something another person was stealing her phone out of her bag. Be careful.

I walked down to the collesum and got some strangers to take some photos of me.

But it was so hot. I was covered in sweat, heat rash, and felt over all yuck. I made my way past the collesum to the mouth of truth. Although it was hot Rome is so beautiful. I couldn't be mad at Rome for making me melt.

I decided to head back to the hotel and see if they had my luggage after a round of pasta of course. I found this restaurant in a back street with outdoor dining that had those cool water spray fans. It was just what I needed.

I got back to the hotel and my luggage was in my room.... I was so glad. The airport had broke the new lock that I brought in Germany when my bag got broken in to. I will have to buy another one.

I had a quick shower and got changed and headed back out to do some more exploring.

Buy the time dinner time came I didn't realise how sunburnt I was. Since the shops were closed and I couldn't get any after sun gel and thought that I would have the second best thing. Wine!

I went and had dinner near the Spanish steps at this little restaurant that I visited on my last trip to Rome. It was just as good as I remember it.

After dinner I went to a little supermarket and brought some bananas for snacks and some water.

Tip: instead of spending a lot of money whenever your hungry go to a local supermarket and buy so e fruit, chips or crackers for your day bag.
