Tips on how to get your flight upgraded

Hey readers.

I learnt a few tricks of the trade on how to get your flight up graded on a long haul flight.

Anyone can get there flight upgraded it honestly just depends on how full your flight is. If your flight is packed to the brim, you have got no chance. If there is still space in business class you have a shot.

Tips on how to get your flight upgraded

When you originally book your flight make sure that you have not requested a dietary requirement meal. Because in Business Class and First Class they have a whole different menu to those who are slumming it in economy. Which face it most of us do. And the air hostess will not let you move seats if you have a dietary requirement meal as it confuses the staff.

Make sure that on the day of your flight you are dressed relatively nice. Im not saying you have to be wearing Prada or heels but something dressy. Like some nice jeans and a jacket (depending on the weather) maybe a dress but not your warm and comfortable track pants.

When you go to book in at the airport have a nice chat with the attendant who is booking in your seat and casual mention "Is it going to be a full flight?" Depending on the attendants answer will depend on if you have a shot at getting upgraded.

If its a yes its a very full flight. Sorry darling your chances are very slim. But if they reply with "No, not really" then your in luck.

Ask the attendant who is booking in your seat if there is any free seats in business class. If its a yes, ask them how much it will cost to up grade? If they say some ridiculous amount say "Thanks for checking, but no thanks" Sometimes because of the late notice they may even sell you an upgraded ticket for only $100.00.

If you do get shut down try again when you get to the gate. When you get to the gate ask one of the attendants if there are any free spaces in business class. They will usually be pretty busy. Sometimes they will say just ask one of the air hostess on the plane another time they might be able to sell you an upgrade for a ticket for only $100.00 or give you one for free.

Other wise. When you get on the plane either before or after take off just ask one of the flight attendants. And if there is they may let you change your seat to a business class seat for free.

Don't be disheartens if you do not get upgraded. They probably have people all the time trying to get upgraded. Try again on your next flight. If you don't ask you will never know if you got be sucking down champagne with the rich and famous in business or first class.
