Places I went in Europe

A list of Places I went in Europe

Flight: Home- Bangkok Thai Airlines
Time: 2pm-8pm (10hours)
Comment: The flight was very bumpy and very full. The only seat I could get was on an isle very close to the toilets mid plane. They feed us when we first got on then turned down the lights until an hour before we landed. TV and movies are included. Drinks and coffee are included with your meal. Alcohol is included also. When you walk onto the plane you get a bag of peanuts a pillow and a blanket. Trust me you will need that blanket. They keep the planes so cold to make sure no bacteria grows. Before the meals they come around and give you a wet hand wipe which is really nice. If you want to get your meal first make sure you tell your travel agency that you have a dietary requirement. I found this out because I asked for a gluten free meal because I am gluten free. This flight wasnt a pleasant experience for me not because of anything the plane did. I was just so ill and throwing up most of the way. They were really attentive and brought me some tea to help me feel better. I would fly with Thai Airlines again. I would just take travel sickness tablets first.

Flight: Bangkok- London Thai Airlines
Time- 12am-6am (13hours)
Comment: This flight had hardly any people on it. So I got to have the window seat and lay accross two seats. It was great. I got a tiny bit of sleep. I was starving by the end of it because I was sick and had nothing in my stomach.

Cost: $2,582.00 (return)

London

Transfer :Airport to hotel: Uk Transfer
Comment: Good Transfer company. Where waiting at the airport with my name on a sign. Walked straight out and pretty much hopped in the car. The vehicle was nice and clean. With only a few other people in the car also.

Accommodation:
President Hotel
16 Russell Square Bloomsbury, London

Comments: Clean, Small, Walls where paper thin. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking an war was happening in my room and it was the person watching TV in the next room. Modern and clean bathroom. Tea and Coffee making facilities. I wouldn't bother ordering lunch or dinner from the hotel. The food was rubbish and when I did I found a bit of glass in my food. I brought it to the attention of the staff member he shrugged it off. But in saying that Breakfast was fantastic and it came with the room. HUGE key. which would of been awkward to carry if I didnt have a bag. The locks were strange and it took me two hands and 10mins to get into the room the first time. Located right near the hop on hop off bus stop, close to the train and the British Museum  Over all impression I would stay there again but only for a few days.

Places I saw in London:

  • Harrods- Good for a look. But very expensive
  • Piccadilly Circus- Great shopping. If you go after boxing day the sales make everything cheaper
  • M&M World- Fantastic I would go again and recommend it
  • Tower of London- Worth a look, the lines are insane. Go early in the morning and get on a tour
  • West Mister Abby- Worth a look
  • Buckingham Palace- You have gotta go here if you go to London. Check the time of year and the day you may get to see the changing of the guards. But get there early to get a good spot.
  • Madame Tussuads- SOOOO Extremely busy. Over an hour to get in. Jammed packed full of people, but worth a look.
  • Warner Brothers Studios - Harry Potter Exhibit- Definitely recommend going. ITS FANTASTIC
  • Big Ben- Must see
  • London Eye- Worth a look
  • Parliament- Worth a look
  • British Museum- Must see. Its free.
  • Abby Road- Worth a look. Take a pen so you can right your name on the wall. You can get there by taxi or bus
  • Commercial Road Markets- Very Recommend. Cheap shopping. It makes you feel like a local
  • London Bridge- Must see
  • Hop on hop off bus pass- Reccomended

Transfer Hotel- Airport: City Transfers UK
Comment:Quick Transport back to the air port. Good company to go with.

Over all impression: Loved London. I would go back there in a heart beat. It is so full of history and life. But bring an umbrella.

Flight- British Air Ways
Time- 11:40am-1:55pm (1.5 hours)
Comments: The flight was so full but I booked in online the night before and managed to get a window seat. They brought us around chips, nuts and a soft drink. Cleared the food and we landed. Very short flight. The Business class section is sectioned off by a small curtain which hung just above the seats a few infront of me. To be honest it wouldnt even be worth getting business class tickets for that flight. There wasnt much room in front of you for your knees.

Transfer airport to hotel- Air City Service
Comments: Really not impressed. I called up the day before to confirm a meeting stop. They told me to meet the driver at gate 4 entrance. I got off the plane and went to the gate 4 entrance. There was no one there. No one with my name on the sign. I walked around a bit looking for anyone with transfer signs. I called the company to see where he was. He then ended up finding me with the sign Air City Service. He couldnt speak much english which was find. But it was just the fact I was stressing out for half an hour when I spent the time to call them the day before to reconfirm it. Roughly 45mins to get into Paris.

Paris-
Accommodation:
Hotel Concorde Montparnasse
40 Rue Du Commandant Mouchotte

Comments: Fantastic. The room was very modern and clean and so was the hotel. Wasnt really in walking distance of the main sites. But only about 10mins by taxi. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection. I would recommend staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can see the Effiel Tower around the corner of the hotel.

What I saw in Paris:
  • I got the Paris Pass which had the hop on hop off bus and helped you skipped the lines at all the major attractions
  • Arch de triumph- Gotta see it
  • Champ Eyeless- Fantastic Markets with fresh macaroons. Recommend this
  • Eiffel Tower- Must see it
  • DisneyLand and Walt Disney Studios- Fantastic gotta see it Go on a tour to get there.
  • The lourve- Its a must if you are in Paris. Get a paris pass to skip the lines
  • Notre Dame- Worth a look. Watch out for Gypsy's
Over all impression: Paris is one of those places that you must see when you go to Europe. But I honestly think the only reason I would ever go back now I have seen it is to see the Moulin Rouge. That was the only thing I missed out on seeing that I wanted to. Paris is a very dirty city, people try and scam money, theres lots of homeless people and people urinating and spitting on the street.

Transfer: Air City Service
Comment: Picked me up on time and I got to the airport on time.

Flight- Vueling Airline
Time: 3:20pm- 5:20pm (2hours)
Comment: The flight went really quick which was great apart from there was absolutely no room infront of my knees. My knees were right against the seat and I'm short. I would hate to think about the tall people that go on that plane.

Transfer: Gartours
Comment: The transfer driver that picked me up was lovely. A bit of a hoon. But lovely. He was driving 150 in a 100 zones. He didnt speak much english but he tried cos he could see I was so excited to be in Rome. 30mins from the airport to central city.

Rome

Accomadation:
Universo Hotel
Via Principe Amedo
I was booked into the Universo Hotel and when I got there they said that they had a black out on the floor and sent me to their sister hotel
Actual Accomdation:
Best Western Premier Hotel Royal Santina
Via Marsala 22RomeItaly

Comment: Really modern and clean hotel. You could chose what lighting you would like to room to be. Either blue, red, white or green. It came with a welcome fruit basket. There were two down falls. 1. There wifi wasnt working. 2. They didnt have an overly huge breakfast selection.  Close to the centre of Rome. Walking distance to most of the main attraction and the hop on hop off bus.

Things I saw in Rome:
  • Trevi fountain- Must See. So beautiful. Packed though.
  • Spanish Steps- Worth a look, but if you miss it I wouldnt be too worried about it.
  • Collesuem- Must see. Go with a tour to avoid lines
  • Roman Forum- Must see. You can walk through it for free
  • Vatican City- Must see Go with a tour to miss out on the lines
  • Sisten Chapel- Must see Go with a tour to miss out on the lines
  • Mouth of Truth- Worth a see. A coin donation
  • Try a lot of different restaurants
Overly all impression: I would go back to Rome in a heart beat. My heart is still in Rome. The food, the shopping, the history and the fountains. If you go to Europe I would highly recommend you go to Rome. Areas near trains stations can be quite scummy and attract not the nicest of people. But its very safe because there is alot of people around. Try out as many restaurants as you can. And eat as much pasta, pizza and gelato as you can. YUM. Spend lots of time gazing at the beauty of Rome.

Transfer: Gartours
Comment: Beautiful scenic drive. Lovely diver.

Flight- Rome- Bangkok Thai airways
Time:  130pm-6:05am (10hours)
Comment: Flight was a bit bumpy but went very well. Thai airways really looked after me.

Stop over 18hours

Flight: Bangkok- Home Thai airways
Time 11:59pm- 12:05pm (10 hours)
Comment: This flight was very full and I got the middle seat in the row right behind the toilets. This was great because I had plenty of room to spread my legs out. I also took a travel sickness tablet before and watched movies. They about 50 movies you could watch, TV shows and games you could play.

  1. When I was still living in Europe, I didn't realize there is so much to see and that it's all so close. I had the worst case of wanderlust: the further the destination, the better....Thanks for a nice read !
